trimbleTRIMBLEFORNEY – A Mesquite High School graduate is dead after an incident at a former classmate’s home in Forney on Monday.

Forney police were called to a home in the 100 block of Trailwood Court in the Deerfield Heights subdivision of Forney shortly after 4 a.m. Monday on a disturbance call after reports of gunfire. Officers made contact with the resident outside the home and upon entering the residence, discovered a badly wounded 23-year-old William F. Trimble III, a 2007 MHS graduate.

Trimble was treated by EMTs at the scene and then taken by ambulance to an area hospital, where he died of injuries from a gunshot wound.

The home was the residence of another MHS graduate, 23-year-old Krystopher Thomas Buerck.

Buerck was taken to the Forney Police Department and interviewed by detectives but was released by 11 a.m. with no charges filed against him. Forney police say the case will likely be referred to a Kaufman County grand jury but have released no further details.

Trimble and Buerck were apparently close friends but it is not clear why Trimble was at the home or what led to the shooting.
